Abstract
PURPOSE: To be applicable to resonance thermometer and realize detection of absorption frequency at high precision and high speed, by making the oscillation frequency of oscillator equal to the absorption frequency by using signals obtained by processing amplitude modulation signals from a sensor oscillator.
CONSTITUTION: When a measurement is commenced, a control circuit 4 sends a sweep start signal to a function generator 5, and a sensor oscillator 2 oscillates an oscillation frequency (ν). This frequency is swept by a lamp signal from the generator 5, and is modulated by a low frequency signal fm from a signal generator 3. When the frequency (ν) coincides with the absorption frequency νt of a material 11, the electromagnetic waves are absorbed by the material 11, and the amplitude is decreased. The circuit 4 performs a synchronous rectification operation of the modulation signal, and a control signal Ef is obtained. The signal Ef becomes zero when the frequency (ν) coincides with νt to be turned into a signal having the property of changing the polarity before and after such zero point. Therefore, the frequency is counted in a measuring circuit 7, and the temperature may be known. Hence, a device capable of detecting an absorption frequency at high precision and high speed may be realized.
