Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the effect of interference between detection coils by exciting a plurality of eddy current detecting coils respectively with signals of frequencies differing even times and measruing displacements.
CONSTITUTION: Eddy current detecting coils 2, 2' are excited respectively by the cuttents through power amplifiers 4, 4' of frequencies varying even times such as frequencies f0, 2f0, etc. by osicllators 3, 3' and bridge circuits. As a result, the magnetic flux changes of the coils 2,2' by the eddy currents being generated in correspondence to the displacements of the object 1 are detected and the bridge circuits 5, 5' become unbalanced, thereby generating the unbalanced voltagea owing to impedance changes. The voltages are locked at the frequencies f0, 2f0 by the lock-in amplifiers 6, 6' with the signals of the frequencies f0, 2f0 being outputted by the oscillators 3, 3' as reference signals. Hence, the DC voltages corresponding to the displacements of the object free from any effect of mutual interferences of the coils 2, 2' are detected from linearizers 7, 7', whereby the easy and accurate measurement may be performed without making any calibration and correction.
