Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the toner accumulation on electrostatic latent image holding surfaces and carrier surfaces by filling fine powder of an electrical insulation type resin on the pores and dent portions of magnetic particles which are porous or have large surface roughness.
CONSTITUTION: Particles of a ferromagnetic material of particle sizes 50 to 600μ and bulk densities 2 to 4 are mixed in a solution or dispersion of fine particles of an electrical insulation type resin, preferably fluorine base polymer, whereby the fluorine base polymer is impregnated at 0.05 to 20.0 wt.% in the pores of the surfaces thereof and the dent portions of the surfaces and is preferably baked. As a result, the powder characteristics and triboelectrification characteristics under varying humidity conditions are stabilized and the image density is constant and image quality does not degrade despite repeated use, thus the improvement in effective lifetime may be achieved and the lightweight and easy-to-handle developer for magnetic brush may be obtained.
