Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound for medical use in simple procedures and handling, by reacting an acid addition salt of guanidinocaproic acid with ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate in the presence of a condensing agent in an anhydrous inert solvent.
CONSTITUTION: An acid addition salt, e.g. guanidinocaproic acid hydrochloride, of a compound of formula I: (n is 4W6) is reacted with a compound, e.g. ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate, etc., of formula II: (X is H, halogen, alkyl, nitro, alkoxy, or alkoxycarbonyl group) in the presence of a condensing agent, e.g. N, N'-dicylo- hexylcarbodiimide, etc., which can be easily handled, in an anhydrous is inexpensive and suitable, and inert solvent, e.g. pyridine to give an acid addition salt, e.g. p-ethoxy-carbonylphenyl ester of guanidio-caproic acid, etc., of an guanidio fatty acid derivative of formula III.
USE: Remedies for acute pancreatitis. Strong inhibitory actions on trypsin and kallikrein.
