Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a substance having strong lymphocyte-rejuvenating activity, free from haemagglutination effect, low toxic, and useful for the remedy of diseases caused by abnormality of immune function, e.g. Hodgkin's disease, by extracting fungi belonging to Corinaceae Psathyrella with a solvent.
CONSTITUTION: Fruit bodies of Basidiomycetes, belonging to Corinaceae Psathyrella e.g. Psathyrella condolleana, are washed with water, physiological salt solution, etc., and extracted with a solvent. The solvent is water or a water-miscible organic solvent, e.g. lower alcohol, acetone, etc., usually a mixed solvent of water and a lower alcohol. The amount of the solvent is 3-12 times, pref. 5W10 times the weight of the dried fruit body. The extraction is carried out at room temperature (15W 25°C) for several hours to several weeks. After the extraction, the fruit bodies are separated from the extract by filtration or centrifugal separation, and the extract is concentrated to obtain the substance having immune function controlling activity.
