Abstract

PURPOSE:To avert edge effect and improve gradation reproducility of electrophotography by imaging the electrophotographic photoreceptor layer sprayed with light transmittable particles nearly in one layer and removing the abovementioned particles then performing developing. CONSTITUTION:After a photosensitive plate 3 composed of a substrate 1 and a photosensitive layer 2 is charged in a dark place by using a charger 4, light transmittable particles 6 of particle sizes about 1 to 200mu having a conductivity of about 10<10>OMEGAcm or under in specific reisstance are sprayed on the surface thereof and are arrayed nearly to one layer. Next, it is exposed with images through the original 7 and the light transmittable particles 6 are removed with a cleaning brush 8, after which the images are developed by, e.g., a magnet brush 9, whereby the visible images are obtained. According to the exposure method such as the one mentioned above, the parallel rays radiated to the particles 6 are condensed as they pass through the particles 6 and the latent images of the picture images are formed as assemblies of spot form minute regions on the photosensitive layer 2 and therefore the picture images of superior gradation characteristic may be formed without producing any edge effect.
