Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable safe and rapid escaping of other floating structures in emergency such as when certain floating structure breaks fire or the like in a maritime base where a number of floating structures are always moored in the sea area surrounded by breakwaters.
CONSTITUTION: In a maritime base where a number of floating structures 2 such as petroleum storage tanks or the like within sea area surrounded by breakwaters 1, a ballast tank 3 is provided on the structure 2, engaging arms 4 having connectors 4a are mounted at the upper end peripheral edge, and supporting buoy 5 is installed at the position corresponding to the arm 4 among the structures 2. If a fire occures at certain structure 2, the valve 10 of the adjacent structure 2' is opened to introduce sea water into the ballast tank 3 to cause the structure 2' to be sunk until the connectors 4a make contact with the buoy 5 to close the valve 10 by the operation of the detector 11, so as to escape it under water to prevent spread of the fire.
