Abstract

PURPOSE: Polymer mixtures are melt spun under spcific conditins using spinnerets where the diameter of nozzles at the outlet surface is larger than the minimum diameter of the nozzles to stabilize spinning operation and produce title mixed fibers with less uneveness in denier.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture consisting of 90W60 parts by wt of polyamide and 10W 40 parts of polyester is meltspun using spinnerests where the diameter of nozzles at the outlet surface is larger then the minimum idameter of the nozzles under conditions satisfying equations, x≥ 0.5, y≥ 10 x + 35, x≤1.5, y≤ 90, y≤ 150x -15 and [(ν/Δn) x 10-3 (m/min)] where x is the diameter of nozzles at the outlet surface in mm, Y is the ratio of yarn taking-up speed ν in m/min to optical birefringence Δn of the yarns.
