Abstract
PURPOSE: Raw brown coal is made into slurry by mixing with an appropriate solvent and dehydrated and then the liquefaction reaction is effected, thereby carrying out high-heat-efficiency dehydration to produce dehydrated slurry suitable for conducting high-efficiency liquefaction reaction without the exposure of slurry to the air.
CONSTITUTION: Raw brown coal is sufficiently kneaded with a low-boiling solvent and another high-boiling solvent in kneader 1 and made into a slurry in slurry tank 2. The slurry is prehaeted in heat exchanger 4 by pumping with pump 3 into the heater and further heated to about 100-300°C in the upper part of heating furnace 5. Then the slurry is sent to gas-liquid separator 6 under such a pressure that the water in the slurry evaporate sufficiently to separate into steam, the low-boiling solvent and slurry. The resulting slurry is pumped through furnace 5 and the pressure and temperature are raised, then charged into liquefaction reactor 10. The steam from the reactor is passed through pressurizing means 7 and sent to heat exchanger 4 to preheat the slurry. The low-boiling solvent recovered in oil- water separator 9 and the liquid fraction from separator 11 are subjected to fractionation disillation in rectification column 12. The recovered high-boiling solvent is reused for making slurry.
