Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture the tin-lead clad sheet with uniform thickness ratio, by first removing the oxide film from the rich-lead alloy sheet and the rich-tin alloy sheet, and then, by pressing two sheets tight over a specified period of hours on purpose to cause the diffusion welding between two sheets.
CONSTITUTION: The oxide film is removed from the surface of the lead sheet or the rich-lead/tin alloy sheet and the surface of the tin sheet or the rich-tin/lead alloy sheet, according to the brushing, etc.; this lead sheet and the tin sheet are joined together. Next, two sheets are pressed tight at normal temperature over a specified period of hours on purpose to diffusion weld two sheets. According to this method, two structural phases are metallically welded together, and the clad sheet with uniform thickness all over can be manufactured.
