Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish economical and efficient separation and removal of heavy metal from waste water through percipitation of a heavy metal from a heavy metal ion contained waste water with addition of a blast furnace slag and a subsequent removal of calcium and the like by blowing a carbon dioxide.
CONSTITUTION: A waste water 2 containing a heavy metal ion is inducted to a reaction device 4 from a smoke scrubber 1 attached to a refuse incinerator. After crushed with a crusher 8, a blast furnace slag is added to the reaction device 4. At the same time, the amount of the blast furnace slag added is adjusted so that the waste water becomes alkali in the pH level. Following the reaction, the waste water is inducted to a percipitation separator 5 to separate and discharge sediments (sulfide, hydroxide, silicate of heavy metal or the like). Then, the waste water is introduced to a carbon dioxide reaction device 6 where treated waste gas passing by the smoke scrubber 1 is blown in the settle calcium ion or the like, and moved to a percipitation separator 7 to separate sediments such as calcium carbonate.
