Abstract

PURPOSE: A silicone rubber electrical insulator moldable into sheets, having improved thermal conductivity and electrical insulating properties, comprising a silicone rubber and boron nitride.
CONSTITUTION: A silicone rubber is incorporated with boron nitride (BN), BN or a metallic oxide, or BN and tetrafluoroethylene resin and/or a silicone condensate having terminal hydroxyl groups. The use of a much smaller amount than the metallic oxide alone of BN together with the metallic oxide, e.g. aluminum oxide or quartz, etc. can provide a high thermal conductivity equal to that obtained by the metallic oxide alone. The addition of BN, the tetrafluoroethylene resin, or the silicone condensate having terminal hydroxyl groups improves the processability
