Abstract
PURPOSE:To start an electrolytic cell of an electrolytic cell group connected in parallel with a rectifier without causing any change in operation of the other cells of the group, by interposing resistors between the cell and the rectifier, by changing the resistor from larger one to smaller one successively, removing all resistors ultimately. CONSTITUTION:One cell Ci of an electrolytic cell group C1-Cn connected in parallel with a rectifier 1 is started with delay as follows: Resistors r1-rp installed corresponding to parallel subswitches B1-Bp set between both terminals A, B of the rectifier 1 and the cell Ci are changed from larger one to smaller one, i.e., out of open switches B1-Bp, B1 is first closed, then B2 is closed in addn., subsequently B3, B4---are closed to decrease the resistance in order. After Bp is closed, the main disconnecting switch S1 is closed, so that the cell Ci is started without causing any trouble.
