Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the highcolor tone and the luminance through following combinations: the blue color and zinc sulfide; the green color and yttrium silicate plus terbium; and the red color and yttrium oxide plus europium respectively.
CONSTITUTION: The ytterum oxide/europium for the red features the luminance about 15% higher than yttrium sulfide/europium as well as better gamma characteristics. The yttrium silicate and terbium feature a little lower color purity than zinc silicate and manganese but excel in the luminance, gamma characteristics and anti-deterioration property. With combination of these elements, a color screeen can be obtained with satisfactory color tone. The blue gamma characteristics is not satisfactory yet but features the reduced white composition intensity ratio of 0.1. Thus, the excitation current value of blue is improved to 1/2 or less compared with green, reducing the color shift
