Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an agricultrual film having improved heat retaining properties and durable anti-fogging effect without bleeding, by adding a specific dried silica gel to a polyolefin resin.
CONSTITUTION: A) 100 parts by wt. of a polyolefin resin (preferably low-density polyethylene or ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) is blended with B) 1W15 parts by wt., preferably 5W10 parts by wt. of a dried silica gel having a prominent reversible desorption of free water in a temperature range not higher than 200°C with a peak at 90°C, a pore volume of 0.4W2.9ml/g, a surface area of 350W 800m2/g, a pore diameter of 20W80Å, a structural water content of 2W4 wt.%, an ignition loss not more than 8 wt.%, and a particle size, preferably not more than 10μ, more preferably not more than 5μ, by a mixer, etc. The resulting blend is molded into a film by inflation, etc. at 180W250°C. The addition of magnesium hydroxide to the silica gel further improves the heat retaining properties
