PURPOSE:To provide a gas/liq. contact apparatus which is excellent in gas absorption efficiency and is prevented from deposition and adhesion of solute, by installing an opening, from which gas blown out from the opening of a gas-introducing zone bubbles out upward, at the outer cylinder whose end is lower than the opened end of the introducing zone for the gas to be treated and which surrounds the lower end of the introducing zone. CONSTITUTION:When the gas to be treated which is introduced into a gas-introducing zone 1 passes through an opening 2 made in lower side wall, the gas accompanies liq. violently in the state of mixed gas/liq. phase and runs to the opening 4 of the outer cylinder 3, hereby the inside of the opening 4 of the cylinder 3 is washed strongly and prevented from the deposition and adhesion of solid. Although waves rise in the cylinder 3, their amplitude is made small by selecting satisfactorily small height of the liq. surface 7. To keep the washing effect for the inside wall of the cylinder 3, the sectional area of the region surrounded by the side walls of the introducing zone 1 and the outer cylinder 3 is pref. 1-10 times that of the opening 4 of the outer cylinder 3.
