Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress the biased gas stream within a tower and enhance the gas- liquid contact effect by a mechanism wherein an opening angle of a gas introducing port located against the tower center is adjusted to the angle of a specific range in a gas-liquid contact cylindrical tower into which a gas is introduced from the side portion thereof.
CONSTITUTION: In a cylindrical tower 10 having a gas-liquid contact means therein into which a gas is introduced from a gas introducing port 50 of the side portion thereof and passed upwardly within a tower to contact a liquid and a gas, the opening angle θ of the gas introducing port 50 against to the tower center is adjusted to about 100W180°. By this structure, a gas is flowed into over the total diameter of the tower and the stream reflected from a tower wall is also distributed over the total diameter of the tower, thereafter the gas is passed the tower center and raised as a uniform gas stream. Thereby, the bias of the gas flow speed distribution within the tower is prevented and the gas-liquid contact effect is enhanced.
