Abstract
PURPOSE:To adjust freguency of electronic watch at high precision and in a wide range by selecting the set and reset signals of frequency dividers according to the contents in the memory circuit controlled externally. CONSTITUTION:The reference frequency signal delivered by a reference oscillator is divided down by plural frequency dividers. When the division outputs are applied to an adjusting device which is externally connected to a watch, the adjusting device will generate specified rate adjusting signal. Therefore, when a high level signal is applied to the gate of MOS transistor 44, since the impedance of resistor 45 is designed higher than the turn-on impedance of transistor 44, the transistor 44 is turned off. On the other hand, a MOS transistor 46, to which is applied a voltage Vm lower than the write-in voltage of FAMOS transistor 47, is turned on, so that high level signals for rate adjustment are written into dual MOS transistors 47, 48. By controlling the setting and resetting of the frequency dividers in each division region according to those memory contents, the division output transmitted to the time measuring mechanism is compensated, so that the frequency of electronic watch may be adjusted at high precision and in a wide range.
