Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a rotary engine, in which internal EGR is prevented by jtting air into the gap between the inner periphery of the rotary housing and the outer periphery of the rotor, and also which is free from disturbance of proper air-fuel mixture supply by injected air.
CONSTITUTION: In this rotary engine, on one side of the long axis Y-Y of the trochoid, that is, on the same side as intake and exhaust ports 7 and 8, a jetting port 16 is formed in the trochoida inner wall on the lagging side of the node of the trochoid (i.g., intersection of the trochoil with the short axis X-X), and the outlet of an air pump 17 is connected to the jetting port 16 through an air duct 18. The air duct 18 is provided with a negative pressure sensitive on-off valve 23 and a synchronious on-off valve 24, and a heater 19 for heating air flowing through the air duct 18 by utilizing heat of re-combustion in a thermal reactor 14 is provided between the valves 23 and 24.
