Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a backing for water resisting photographic paper of high adhesiveness of paper being backing and polyolefin by coating a specific primer then coating with polyolefin resin. CONSTITUTION:An isocyanate base compound (preferably polymer) which contains two or more isocyanate groups in molecules such as methylene bis-di-phenylisocyanate or tolylene diisocyanate is added, at about 1 to 200wt% based on the solid content of polyvinyl alcohol, to an aqueous solution which contains 1 to 20wt% of polyvinyl alcohol of about 300 to 2500 in the degree of polymerization and about 80 to 100mol% in the degree of saponification and the solution is stirred to form the primer solution. The above primer solution is coated on the surface of paper before or after paper making process or immediately before extrusion coating and in succession polyolefin resin is coated thereon.
