Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the overspeed of a generator by arranging an emergency throttle valve in the air passage of an air turbine and controlling the air flow rate when the speed of the air turbine or wave height reaches over each setting valve.
CONSTITUTION: An opening and closing apparatus for emergency throttle valve consists of an emergency throttle valve 32, valve shaft 33, driving apparatus 34, and a speed detector 37 such as a tachogenerator. The emergency throttle valve 32 for controlling the air stream 35 is arranged in an air passage communicating to an air turbine 31, and the revolution speed is detected by a detecting apparatus 37 directly connected to the top of a turbine generator 16, and the throttle valve 32 is opened and closed by the driving apparatus 34 to control the flow rate of the air 36, and thus the air turbine 31 and the generator 16 are controlled
