Abstract
PURPOSE: To constitute the circuit in which the number of selection data electrodes of write-in is very great to the number of the data electrodes m and a given write- in voltage can be fed stably even if p≈m and p is greatly changed.
CONSTITUTION: The gates 14 are all turned on and the gates 13 are all turned off, the circuit 11 is driven with the signal S1 and all the video elements are charged up to Vp(light emitting voltage Vw- threshold voltage Vth) through m sets of electrodes X. The scanning side gate 14 is turned off and the modulation side gate 13 is driven with constant current so that the input voltage has a given relation with the output current, and the charge charged up is discharged for a constant current. Next, the gates 13, 14 are all turned off and only SSj is turned on. The electrodes other than the scanning electrode Yj selected are raised to Vth, and the write-in voltage Vw(i)=V(i)+Vth is fed to the video element (i,j) and intermediate illmination is made correspondingly. Thus, the write-in voltage is fed with the scanning electrode not including the selected video element, then the raising voltage for write-in is not changed with the number of the selected data electrodes m and illumination with a given brightness can be made
