The conveyor chain 202 of a traverse feed unit C is installed with a pair of attachments a1 alternately at two different intervals and at a constant pitch so as to support anodes of two different breadths, hence one unit C conveys two kinds of anodes 1, improving working efficiency. In reformation D of the anode 1, in order to move the lugs 3, 4 in paralled with each other in the direction of the breadth, the lugs are flexed and pressed downward, so that drafts at the undersurface of the lugs 3, 4 are removed, yielding electrolytic anode which can be suspended vertically and stably in an electrolytic cell
