Abstract
PURPOSE:To make measurements by converting the Ca density of a bone into the thickness of a standard body, by irradiating the roentgenographs of light-and-shade images of the bone and standard body and by A/D-converting obtained electric signals before being compared by a computer. CONSTITUTION:Standard substrate 5 of Al in a right-angled triangle shape is set to a diseased part and a X-ray photograph is taken. At this time, transmitted X-rays form a light-and-shade image which corresponds to thickness. Since the quantity of transmitted light when the light-and-shade image is irradiated with light increases according to the thickness of substrate 5, electric signals are picked up from the roentgenographs via photometer 1 and A/D converted 2 before comparative calculation 3, so that the Ca density of the bone of the diseased part can be found from the value which corresponds to the thickness of Al substrate 5. Then, results are edited and typed out by typewriter 4 or shown by a histogram for accurate diagnosises.
