Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable stable transmission characteristics which may be put to practical use to be provided by providing a clad layer of the specific curable organopolysiloxane composition. CONSTITUTION:A curable organopolysiloxane composition composed of 100 pts.wt. of diorganopolysiloxane of formula I, 0 to 100pts.wt. of organopolysiloxane which is composed of units of formula II, formula III and SiO2, and in which of the sum of units of formula II, formula III for SiO2 units are 0.5 to 2.0 and of which vinyl group contents are 0.5 to 3wt%, organohydrogenpolysiloxane having 3 or more of H in one molecule of a quantity sufficient for giving 0.7 to 5 of H directly bound to Si per 1 vinyl group in the abovementioned two components, organopolysilane of formula IV of the quantity corresponding to 0.2 to 50pts.wt. based on the total quantity 100pts.wt. of the abovementioned two components and a pt compound of catalyst quantity is diluted in a solvent and the solution is coated on the surface of the core composed of the fiber of quartz glass and optical glass, and is then hardened by heating.
