Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled coater capable of improving bulb production yield through prevention of unevenness in fluorescent substance layer on the bulb with control of the foam generation in the suspension containing said fluorescent substance, by equipping a filter at the inlet of the lower tank to which an excess of said suspension flow down.
CONSTITUTION: A suspension 5 in the lower tank 10 is transferred into the upper ank 1 by a pump 3. When a bulb 8 is brought to the lower end of the nozzle 2 by a transferring conveyor, said nozzle 2 is opened for a given period, effecting flowing down a predetermined amount of the suspension 5 along the inner wall of the bulb 8. The residual liquid (suspension) 5 falls on a recoverng tray 7 then through a channel 9, reaching a filter 15. Foams generated during the above process stay on the filter without penetrating through it,and disappear spontaneously.
