Abstract

PURPOSE: An ABS resin is incorporated with a polyvinyl chloride resin with specific polymerization degrees respectively and an ethylene-vinyl chloride copolymer containing less than 10% of ethylene to produce said flame-retardant polyvinyl chloride resin with high process fluidity, heat resistance and impact strength.
CONSTITUTION: To 40W60% of an ABS resin are added 55W5% of a polyvinyl chloride resin with average polymerization degree of 550W800 and 5W55% of an ethylene-vinyl chloride copolymer with average polymerization degree of 300W500 and ethylene content of less than 10%. The ABS resin used is preferably a graft copolymer consisting of 15W35% of acrylonitrile, 10W40% of butadiene and 35W65% of styrene. Further 1W8 parts by wt. of antimony trioxide or pentoxide as an auxiliary flame retarder, are added to 100 parts of the resin composition in which the content of the polyvinyl chloride and the vinyl chloride copolymer is required to be 20W40 parts in total.
