Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture a cold rolled steel plate with superior workability by cold rolling a hot rolled mild steel plate; setting a rapid cooling start temp. in accordance with annealing temp. and time in continuous annealing; and prescribing a cooling speed range attendant upon the start temp. CONSTITUTION:A hot rolled mild steel plate is cold rolled at a reduction ratio above 40% and continuously annealed at a temp. (T) of 700-800 deg.C for a time (t) below 60 sec. The annealed plate is then cooled from the annealing temp. (T) to a temp. (TQ) of the equation at a cooling rate below 50 deg.C/sec, followed by rapid cooling to 300-500 deg.C at a cooling rate above 150 deg.C/sec and overaging at 300- 500 deg.C for above 5 sec without reheating. By this method the supersaturation degree of dissolved C in the plate is held properly, high total elongation is attained in spite of short-time overaging, and a cold rolled plate with superior workability is obtd.
