Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize a highly accurate slit rotating drum by sligning the respective slit positions through the utilization of thermal expansion of a ring which is formed with slits at a desired pitch then fixing a film to the drum body in close contact therewith.
CONSTITUTION: A step part 63 for mounting a film is formed across a desired width from the opening end of a bottomed-cylinder-form drum body 61 and its inside diameter is finished to a desired size. Slits 62 of a slightly oversized width are then provided at a desired pitch. A film 44 which has been formed with slits 45 of a width several μ at a desired pitch with high accuracy is put in the inner side of this step part 63 with their slit positions being aligned. A ring 64 which has a press- fit outside diameter at ordinary temperature and which has been provided with slits 65 of a slightly oversized width at a desired pitch is cooled to shrink and is fitted in the step part 63 and on the inner side of the film 44 with their slit positions being aligned. The ring is then returned to ordinary temperature whereby it is closely fitted and fixed to the inside surface of the step part 63.
