Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a porous film with linear through holes, having corrosion and weather resistance, by irradiating an ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer resin film with charged particles in an active gas, followed by chemical etching.
CONSTITUTION: An ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer resin film is irradiated with charged particles, e.g., alpha-particles, having enough energy to penetrate a film in an active gaseous atmosphere, oxyen, etc. and etched chemically by an acqueous solution of sodium hydroxide to give a porous film with linear through holes hairing any pore diameters and pore density, and processing characteristics.
