Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent transfer of heat of the atmosphere to fluid and make possible flow rate measurement of fluid of low temperature by providing a second pipe in concentrical form in the outside region of a pipe in which fluid flows and evacuating spacing between these pipe walls.
CONSTITUTION: A second pipe 7 is provided concentrically in the outside region of a pipe 1 in which fluid flows and the spacing formed between these pipe walls is evacuated to a degree of vacuum of 1×10-4 Torr or under. The pressures before and behind an orifice plate 2 are connected to pressure measuring pipes 4, 5 through capillaries 8, 9. As a result, heat from the atmosphere transfers to the fluid and the occurrence of a change in the temperature of the fluid before and behind the orifice plate 2 is obviated. In addition, the quantity of heat intrusion through the capillaries 8, 9 becomes slight and therefore the flow rate measurement of the fluid of low temperature below -100°C may be accurately performed.
