Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent trouble to be by caused by the freezing of a condensed liquid at low temperature and insure stable measurement, by providing a pressure difference detector at the upper part of the pipe passage of the front and back stages of a choking mechanism and connecting the pressure difference detector with the front and back stage pipe passages by means of a pressure pipe.
CONSTITUTION: Pressure difference detector 8 is placed higher than fluid passage pipe 1. At the lower part of detector 8 are connected pressure pipes 7A and 7B, which are vertically connected to the front and back stages of choking mechanism 3. By this structure, steam 2 in pipe 1, which is to be measured, is led to pressure pipe 7 by the pressure difference (P1-P2) of choking mechanism 3. Steam at point D becomes water drops at point B by its condensation temperature, and the water drops fall to point C along the pipe wall. At point C, they become steam again and the steam moves to point B. By this repetition, a saturated steam pressure at atmospheric temperature is produced at point A so that pressure is transmitted to transmission passage 8 by relatively dry gas only.
