Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a recording image of high quality by forming magnetic poles at the edges of ferromagnetic pieces disposed via gap oppositely at the inside of a toner carrier and forming sharp orthogonal magnetic field in space between the carrier and a sheet to thereby prevent toner image from shading after transfer.
CONSTITUTION: Two ferromagnetic means 6, 7 are arranged inside a carrier 1 and outside a recording sheet 2 in facing manner. Each means has ferromagnetic pieces 8, 9 or 10, 11 extended along the back side of the carrier 1 or the sheet 2 via infinitesimal gap G and made of iron or stainless steel material or the like. The respective pieces 8W11 protrude collar plates 8aW11a, respectively in T-shaped cross section. The plates 8a, 9a or 10a, 11a are secured to one of both magnetic poles of a magnet 12 or 13 made of permanent magnet or electromagnet and so arranged in polarity direction as to exhibit opposite polarity alternatively. Thus, it provides a recording image of high quality without shading a toner image.
