Abstract
PURPOSE: To strongly bond the hard sintered alloy parts to the base metal, by bonding the hard sintered alloy parts of (Mo,W)C system to the steel made base metal through the retaining layer of the spheroidal graphite cast iron.
CONSTITUTION: The wear resisting hard alloy for use of the cutting tool, the drawing dies, the bit, etc., is prepared by sintering the carbide consisting of the solid solution of Mo and W, or the hard material of the simple hexagonal type crystal structure like as the carbonitride, etc., using such bonding metal as Co, etc. This hard sintered alloy parts 1b is inserted into the steel made base metal 2b, so as to leave about 5mm clearance between 1b and 2b. The shperoidal graphite cast iron is cast into this clearance, and the retaining layer 3b is formed. The hard sintered alloy, contacting with above retaining layer 3b, is constituted of the core portion of (Mo.W)C-Co system hard sintered alloy phase 1, the outer circumference of this core portion, of the mixed phase 2 including Mo2C and the α phase formed by strengthening the solid solution of Mo in Fe, and the α phase at the part contacting with the retaining layer 3b; hereby, the bonding force of the hard sintered alloy parts 1b with the retaining layer 3b is strengthened.
