Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a sufficient capacity silencer to be provided on the wall of a hermetically-sealed container to extend both inside and outside said hermetically- sealed container without increasing the whole structure thereof in size for effectively utilizing the internal space of said sealed container.

CONSTITUTION: A silencer 2 is provided on the wall of a hermetically-sealed container 5 for containing the electric compressor 1 made by combining a motor body 4 and a compressor body 2 with each other to extend both inside and outside sealed container 5. Such a silencer 25 as described above is provided on the wall facing said motor body 4 on the almost same side as the valve body 3 of said compressor body 1, and the discharge pipe 26 extended from the discharge chamber 21 of said valve body 3 and the discharge connecting pipe 27 for a freezing cycle condenser are connected to said silencer 25. Refrigerant is sucked in a cylinder 15 through a suction pipe 24, the refrigerant suction hole 22 of a motor cover 23, the refrigerant passage 14 of a rotor 13, the air gap between said rotor 13 and stator 12, and the suction chamber 20 of said valve body 3 in the order of mention, and discharged through the discharge chamber 21 of said valve body 3, a discharge pipe 26, said silencer 25 and a discharge pipeing 27 in the order of mention.
