CONSTITUTION: Beforehand a part or the whole part of solid paraffin and an organic foaming agent are uniformly mixed and the resulting mixture is kneaded with a high-density polyethylene at a temperature below the decomposition point of the foaming agent. The amount of the solid paraffin mixed is suitably 2W15 parts by weight per 100 parts by wt of the high-density polyethylene and the organic foaming agent is 0.2W1.0 part. The organic foaming agent is uniformly dispersed in the high density polyethylene and the plasticizing temperature is adequate. Thus, the composition is extruded on electric conductors to form electric wires covered with foamed polyethylene insulator that has good characteristics.
