Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize the temperature dependence of the characteristic of the circuit by compensating for the change in the gate trigger voltage of a N-gate SCR by the Zener voltage of a Zener diode with a corresponding negative temperrature characteristic thereto.
CONSTITUTION: A zero phase current transformer 31 is connected to the joint of resistors 21 and 22 at one end thereof and connected to the gate of a N-gate SCR 11 at the other. In addition, the anode of the SCR 11 is connected to the joint of a resistor 23 and a Zener dode 12 with a negative temperature characteristic and the cathode thereof connected to a relay coil 32. In operation, when a current leakage occurs, a voltage is applied to the gate of the SCR 11 to actuate the coil 32. Herein, the anode potential VZD of the SCR 11 drops with increasing ambient temperarure, while the gate trigger voltage thereof drops at the same voltage gradiant as VZD. In this manner, the circuit is little affected by the rise in temperature, thus ensuring an accurate operation.
