Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively prevent clogging of nozzle and drooping of ink at the nozzle part by detecting the humidity in the hermetic space between the nozzle and clog- preventing cap thereby controlling energizing of a humidifying means and maintaining the inside of the hermetic space at optimum humidity at all times.
CONSTITUTION: A moisture sensitive resistance element 6 is disposed on the inner side of the cap 2 of an ink ket head 1 to detect the humidity of the hermetic space between the nozzle 1a and cap 2. The output of this element 6 is led to an electric circuit 13, which energizes energizing circuits 11 and 12 to open a solenoid valve and energize a humidifier 7 and send mist from a wetting box 4 to the hermietic space of the cap 2, when the humidity thus detected is lower than the low humidity set value while the cap 2 is held put on the head 1 at the non-recording. When the humidity in the hermetic space rises, said circuit stops the operations of the energizing circuits 11, 12 to close the solenoid valve 8 and stop the humidifier 7. When the humidity in the cap becomes higher than the high set value, said circuit energizes the energizing circuit 10 to operate the solenoid 9 and slightly detach the cap 2 from the head 1, thereby exhausting the water vapors of the inside.
