Abstract

PURPOSE:To copy first and second heat-sensitive papers by reacting the substances of the first and second heat-sensitive papers by the heat which is conducted from an exothermic element such a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:An exothermic element 2, which is arranged in a desired pattern on a thermal head 1, is in contact with a first heat-sensitive paper 3. The first paper 3 is composed of an original paper 4, to which a heat-sensitive color developing agent is applied, and a layer 5 having its back, to which a heat-sensitive chemically reactive substance is applied, and is in contact with a second heat- sensitive paper 6 having its original paper 7, to which a substance such as an adsorbent is applied. When the exothermic element 2 is heated, the resultant heat is conducted to the layer 5 on the back of the first paper 3 so that the substance layer dissolved in a pattern displayed in adsorbed by the layer 8 of the second paper 6 to effect the chemical reaction thereby to develop the color. As a result, if the first and second papers 3 and 6 are separated, they are printed so that copies can be easily obtained.
