Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent local overheating of an iron core in proximity of a metal clamp for the core by means of a non-magnetic metal plate with a small proper resistivity and a good heat conductivity interposed between an iron core composed of a coil and a magnetic circuit and the lamp.
CONSTITUTION: A non-magnetic metal plate 10 with a proper resistivity as small as copper and a good heat conductivity is interposed between an iron core 2 and a metal clamp 3. Accordingly, a flux 4 from the coil passes through the metal 3 and then penetrates into the plate 10. Since the plate 10 is a good conductor of electricity, eddy currents are generated thereon, which allows the flux 4 to escape to the upper and lower ends of the plate 10, penetrating along the lamination of the core 2. With such an arrangement, a magnetic loss on the surface of the core 2 which is facing the metal 3 is eliminated, thus preventing local overheating thereon. Herein, it is desired that the upper and lower end of the plate 10 for example are bent over the corner of the core 2 to promote the prevention of the concentration of electric field into the corner thereof and cooling of the plate 10.
