Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a porous article comprising a uniformly dispersed filler, by dispersing the filler in the uniform solution of a resin, a solvent for the resin, and a non-solvent to give the dispersibility in the non-solvent equal to or higher than that in the solvent.
CONSTITUTION: A filler, e.g. titanium oxide, is dispersed in a uniform solution consisting mainly of a resin, e.g. polyvinylidene fluoride, a solvent for the resin, e.g. N,N-dimethylformamide, and a non-solvent, e.g. ethylene glycol, to give a dispersibility in the non-solvent equal to or higher than that in the solvent. The solvent, non-solvent, and filler are selected to obtain the dispersibility. For titanium oxide pigment whose surface is treated with alumina and silica, the higher silica content gives a high dispersibility in water or acetone. The pigment with a higher alumina content will disperse scarcely in them, however, greatly disperse in methanol.
