Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for powerful light source and obtain copying of high density by radiating light from a linear light source on the thermographic paper superposed on an original, receiving the reflected light from the original with an optical sensor and operating a thermographic head by the output thereof to let the recording paper discolor. CONSTITUTION:An original 8 is radiated by the ray emitted from a linear light source 6 through thermographic paper 7 of high transparency. The ray is absorbed in the black portions 8a of the original and is reflected by the white protions 8b. the reflected rays are condensed with a lens system 9 and are received in an optical sensor 10. The output signal corresponding to the white and black patterns of the original 8 from the sensor 10 is transmitted to a thermographic head 11 to increase the heat of the portions of the thermographic head corresponding to black information and let the thermographic paper 7 discolor. This operation causes the white and black patterns corresponding to the linear portions of the original 8 now being read to be reproduced on the recording paper 7. By sliding the entire part of this device over the original 8 at a right angle the line direction of the linear light source 6, the contents of the original 8 are reproduced onto the thermographic paper 7 of high transparency.
