PURPOSE:To obtain the high-quality copy in an easy way through the uneven illumination, by setting in parallel the signal extracting line sensor and the line sensor featuring the same structure as the former line sensor and then using the output difference between the both line sensors for the recording signal. CONSTITUTION:Original 104 is covered with mask 121 and can be viewed only through linear window 125. The original passed through window 125 formes image 106 on line sensor 101 through lens 102. On the other hand, surface 124 of mask 121 features the uniform reflecting surface, and thus the reflected light is bent by reflector 123 and via lens 102 to be image-formed on line sensor 122 featuring the same structure as sensor 101. This formed image does not include the information of the characters and the like of the original and is turned to the signal proportional to the luminous intensity at the area. Then the uneven illumination can be eliminated by securing the output difference between sensors 101 and 122.
