Abstract

PURPOSE: To entirely eliminate the copper loss of duct-making spacers, by combining the spacers with iron cores and casting molten aluminium in the slots of the iron cores and the spacers.
CONSTITUTION: The iron cores 1 having the slots 6 in the peripheral parts are combined with the spacers 5 having the slots 9 which communicate with those of the iron cores. The iron cores 1 are made of a material whose resistivity is higher than the poured aluminium. The spacers 5 has ventilation holes 11 which are located ratially from the central parts of the iron cores. The molten metal is cast on the inside surfaces of said slots so that ventilation ducts 4 are formed between the iron cores. As a result, the spacers themselves are prevented from heating and the cooling efficiency of the spacers for cooling is greatly heightened.
