Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent an accidental destruction of a branch water channel of an iron pipe water channel in a large-volume high-fall pumping-up power plant due to a negative pressure phenomenon appearing therein by constituting a controlling method for a pump hydraulic turbine such that a bypass valve is additonally provided to the turbine in order to attain a desired control of the turbine.
CONSTITUTION: When the load applied to a pump hydraulic turbine G/M1 is suddenly changed, such as at cutting off of the load, the pump hydraulic turbine quickly operates to close its guide vane whereupon a negative pressure phenomenon will appear depending upon such closing speed of the guide vane. Thus, it is important to close the guide vane as quickly as possible in order to ensure the safety of the main machines (the pump hydraulic turbine, a dynamotor). Accordingly, a bypass valve BV1 is opened at the same time with a guide vane control instruction, whereby water is allowed to flow into a diversion pipe L012 by way of the valve BV1 simultaneously with the closing of the guide vane. Thus, a negative pressure phenomenon around a runner of another pump hydraulic turbine G/M2 can be prevented by such water flow, and hence a serious accident which may lead to a destruction of the power plant can be prevented thereby.
