Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Undrawn, highly oriented hollow fibers of crystalline polypropylene are perforated by drawing to form cntinuous microcavities on the peripheral walls and the heat set, thus producing continuously said porous polypropylene hollow fibers, wherein the temperature of the fibers passing through drawing and/or heat set zones is kept at 110W175°C and the yarn tension on drawing and/or heat set is loaded to the contact guides such as pins or rollers. The hollow fibers contacting with these guids are cooled below 80°C to to prevent the concentration of shrinkage stress on the guids, thus producing objective hollow fibers.
