Abstract
PURPOSE: To detect partial discharge of test piece at high sensitivity by restricting the effect of external noise, by using light emitting diode as detecting element and inserting it into the high voltage side.
CONSTITUTION: If a test piece 1' is defective, a leak current flows through a detecting element 31 composed of two LEDs D1, D2 which are connected parallel in reverse direction to each other in the high voltage circuit side, and LEDs light up alternately. This light is passed into electron multiplier circuit 33, high pass filter 34, and waveform shaping circuit 35 to be inputted into a comparator-discriminator circuit consisting of operation circuit 37, etc. The output terminal of detecting element 2 delivers a pulse output of capacitor 1 which is charged and discharged with alternating-current voltage from the high voltage supply line, and this output is passed into a high pass filter 36 and is inputted into the operation circuit 37. In this circuit, external noise is discriminated, and the same output is compared with the reference value, so that presence or absence of insulation detect of the test piece may be indicated. Thus, by disposing the detecting element composed of LEDs at the high voltage side, partial discharge may be measured at high sensitivity.
