Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the cracking, etc., of the corner, to stabilize the quality, and to improve the yield, in the blooming work, by employing a specially shaped roll for rolling of the material to be rolled, which is restrained from the beginning to the final pass, and is fallen down sideways or inclined. CONSTITUTION:The roll 1 is provided with the caliber I, the caliber II, and the box calibers III, IV; in which, the bottom corner of the caliber I is formed into 45 degrees inclination so as to be able to roll the corner of the material (a) to be rolled; the side taper of the caliber II is formed into an inclined plane by 45 degrees so as to be able to reduce the material (a) into an octagon; and the box calibers III, IV, are provided with dimensions necessary for simultaneous reduction of all planes of top and bottom and both sides of the material (a).
