Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise heat energy level of low pressure steam to permit higher temperature heat to be recovered by adsorbing low pressure steam on adsorbent for producing adsorption heat in the recovery of heat energy from relatively low temperature steam and the like.
CONSTITUTION: When heat energy is recovered from low pressure steam, i.e. steam or mixture gas containing steam as higher temperature thermal medium which has preferably pressure and temperature higher than the atmospheric pressure and 100°C respectively, low pressure steam is at first made contact with adsorbent removably regenerated with at least a portion of adsorbed moisture to raise temperature of the adsorbent with adsorption heat. Then, water, steam or other thermal medium is subjected to heat exchange with said adsorbent so that high temperature thermal medium having temperature higher than that of said low pressure steam is recovered. The adsorbent is then pressurized by steam at least a period of said recovery.
