Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the testing efficiency of torque characteristics by testing the torque characteristics of a step motor in accordance with either the voltage waveforms between the terminals of the step motor for a wrist watch or the current waveforms to be fed to the same.
CONSTITUTION: When a step motor 1 is driven by a drive unit 2, the waveforms shown are obtained at an oscilloscope 3. By the visual observation of the waveforms by an inspector, it is possible to test the propriety of the torque characteristics of the step motor 1. For instance, it is assumed that the proper waveforms shown at a are obtained. If, on the other hand, the maximum current is excessively low, as shown at b, it is found that the torque is low and that the torque characteristics are improper. Thus, the torque of the step motor can be tested efficiently.
